Anna\u2019s research to date has focused on socio-legal and comparative aspects of child rights, and Chinese child welfare law.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Background<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Before coming to Otago, Anna was Distinguished Scholar-in-Residence and Luce Postdoctoral Fellow at Loyola University Chicago School of Law (2015-2017), and Visiting Assistant Professor at Marquette University Law School (2012-2014).<\/p>\n<p>Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Queensland. She graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Law, Master of Philosophy (Law) and Doctor of Philosophy (Law) from the University of Oxford where she was a Rhodes Scholar (Queensland &amp; Magdalen 2008). Anna has practiced commercial law in Australia and clerked in Hong Kong and Shanghai. She has extensive China fieldwork experience, and speaks conversational Chinese Mandarin.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Presentation at 2017 New and Emerging Scholars Symposium<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Her presentation for the Symposium is entitled \u201c<strong>One Eye Open, One Eye Closed: The Role and Regulation of China\u2019s Foreign-Run Orphanages<\/strong>\u201d and draws on her doctoral research.
